Utility Engineer (Utility, Waste Water, Fire Protection)

Job Responsibilities:

As the Utility Engineer, you will be tasked to implement and optimise integrated operation and maintenance strategy for Utility, Waste Water and Fire Protection Systems with internal and external stakeholders to support the manufacturing and commercial operations. You will also : 

  • Comply with all site HSE requirements and participate actively in HSE site wide program.
  • Ensure safe, reliable smooth, quality Utilities supply and Waste water operation to all end users.
  • Establish Utilities, Waste water and Fire Protection procedures and maintenance programs to maintain compliance with regulatory codes, corporate and budgetary requirements, and to sustain safe, reliable and efficient operation.
  • Establish effective service contracts/agreement with vendors with the necessary spare part list and effective inventory level to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Service team to sustain safe, reliable and efficient Utilities, Waste water and Fire Protection operation
  • Manage the Utilities, Waste water and Fire Protection maintenance service contracts to ensure systems are operated and maintained in accordance with regulatory, quality, HSE and budgetary requirement, so as to sustain safe, reliable and efficient operations.
  • Drive energy and water conservation through optimisation of utilities and support of manufacturing operations
  • Review through maintenance service reports, preventive maintenance checklists, repair log sheet and equipment downtime to improve the Utilities, Waste water and Fire Protection systems.
  • Provide technical leadership to the Maintenance and Service team in the troubleshooting
  • Lead/Participate in Root Cause analysis, implement corrective & preventive measures and drive records for timely closure to prevent recurrence.
  • Drive and assess technical changes of Utilities, Waste water and Fire Protection systems through Change Management Process.
  • Provide engineering support during routine and shutdown maintenance work.
  • Drive/support initiatives to meet department and site goals
  • Support site expansion, CAPEX and continuous improvement projects
  • Carries out any other works and tasks as directed by Manager
  • Participate and drive continuous improvement according to site Continuous Improvement Initiatives.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in operation and maintenance of plant utilities system
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of Utilities e.g. Cooling Towers, Chillers
  • Preferably with experience in chemicals or petrochemicals industry
  • Familiar with basic usage of SAP (Maintenance module)
  • Experience with TPM, OEE, MTTR/MTBF is added advantage
  • Good knowledge of regulatory rules and regulation and EHS requirements
  • Familiar with Building Management System
